Yes, like every girl in Tamil Nadu, I was not an exception in secretly crushing this actor. Even after a decade now, that teeny tiny fan girl was still curious to know more about Surya & Jo. I immediately bought this book the second I got to know about it. It did not disappoint me!
My respect towards him has enormously increased after his book. Staying a gentleman in the movie industry is extra challenging and he is still being gold!
Some of his points that made me pause:
1. Everybody has their own struggles. Could be both internal and external. A wealthy actor's son is no exception.
2. The fan-girl in me enjoyed reading about his childhood and how he traumatized Karthi.
3. How a parent's reaction towards a trivial thing could deeply affect a child! I was surprised at how Surya felt insecure and inferior from his childhood.
4. Villages and relatives are always a treasure in anybody's childhood. It was a pleasure to visualize a greener village in his words.
5. The person who stunned me in this book was Sivakumar. He really has made Surya the man that he is now! Making his boys travel in a bus to school to make him know about the real world, reminding Surya that an actor's life is built on poor men's money, giving back to society after earning some money, etc. His ideologies are stunning! Huge respect!
6 Every character portrayed is beautiful! I loved his granny. Such a sweet soul!
7 Of course, Jo! Leaving their love story aside, I'm awed reading how sincere she always is with her work!

Overall, it's a beautiful book! I got to know about a few interesting things from his life and in the Tamil movie world.
