Bio[]
Danny is one of the current lead vocalists for Hollywood Undead, having replaced Deuce after the release of Desperate Measures. Prior to his official introduction to the band, he began to tour with them in mid-2008, filling in for Deuce while he was absent. He became an official member in early 2010.
He has stated that his top three songs off of American Tragedy are My Town, Hear Me Now, and, I Don't Wanna Die. However, he said it was hard to decide as he loves all of the songs.
His favorite song from Day of the Dead is War Child, mostly because of the live performances.
His favorite song from V is Ghost Beach.
Masks[]
- Desperate Measures
Danny toured with the band as a substitute for Deuce beginning in mid-2008. On tours, he wore two gold masks with black paint splatters.
- American Tragedy
After joining the band, Danny's mask became metallic gold with a Latin cross on the left eye. The right side of the mouth also has a small, hardly noticeable grin.
- Notes from the Underground
Danny's mask is similar to his American Tragedy mask. It's still gold, but less metallic. The Latin cross appears to be inverted and is made of 6.5 Grendel bullet casings. The darkening splatter has returned, and it now varies in color. The right side of the mouth still has the grin, which is more noticeable now.
- Day of the Dead
Danny's mask
Hollywood Undead are an American rap rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Charlie Scene, Danny, Funny Man, J-Dog, and Johnny 3 Tears. The band members use pseudonyms and wear masks to display a creative side, not to hide their identities as first assumed. They perform live without the masks on.
The band originated in 2005 from a song titled "The Kids" that Aron Erlichman (Deuce) and Jorel Decker (J-Dog) posted on the band's MySpace profile to positive reviews, leading them to form the group Hollywood Undead with their friends "Shady" Jeff Philips, George Ragan (Johnny 3 Tears), Jordon Terrell (Charlie Scene), Dylan Alvarez (Funny Man), and Matthew St. Claire (Da Kurlzz). In an interview with Shave magazine, J-Dog explained that when forming the band "Whoever was in the room at the time and played an instrument was in the band."
The band only took one year working on their debut album, Swan Songs. The other two years were spent looking for a company that wouldn't try to censor the album. They first signed a record contract with MySpace Records in 2005 but they left the label after the label tried to censor their first album. They then signed a contract with A&M/Octone Records and their first album, Swan Songs was released on September 2, 2008 and reached #22 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release, selling 21,000 copies; which was later on released in the United Kingdom on May 18, 2009 with two bonus tracks. On June 23, 2009, Hollywood Undead released Swan Songs B-Sides EP through iTunes. After 64 weeks, the album fell off of the Billboard Top 200, but returned four weeks later at #174. Since then, it has gone in and out of the top 200, and is currently charting at #199. On July 28, 2009, it was certified gold by the RIAA.
The band released a CD/DVD set entitled Desperate Measures on November 10, 2009. The set includes a CD of six new songs, three of which being cover songs, as well a Written by Holden Wills, @poisonchaos on YouTube Watch this to get an idea of what this band’s all about: Hollywood Undead – Comin In Hot Let’s just get this out of the way right now: Music is weird. It’s a space for limitless creativity and expression, yet it has the harshest critics who only look at things through the lens of what’s objectively good and what’s objectively bad. But to be honest, most people, especially me, don’t care about what’s objectively good and just listen to what we want. Yeah, there’s high-quality food out there that is considered to be objectively the best by a lot of people but why have that when I just wanna eat a Popeye’s chicken sandwich? How is this relevant? I’m not sure I think I’m just hungry but also, it means that it doesn’t matter if something is considered bad by a lot of people, if I like it then I like it and no other band exemplifies this like the California based rock band, Hollywood Undead. Now when people hear that name the responses range from either Who are those guys, they’re the worst band in history, or from the crazy degenerate people like myself, they are the greatest band to ever exist. Hollywood Undead is a very ride-or-die band. You’re either with the Undead Army or think they’re the equivalent of lyrical cancer. Either way, I think they’ve quietly become one of the most influential bands of the 21st century. Let’s start off with some background info. Hollywood Undead has a pretty interesting history when it comes to band members. The band was founded in 2005 by Jorel Decker (J-Dog) Jeffrey Phillips (Shady Jeff) and lead singer Aron Erlichman (Deuce). They posted their first song, The Kids on MySpace, where it got overwhelmingly positive reviews. However, due to personal reasons, Shady Jeff left the band and was not featured on their first album.
