EVELYN JANE (WARREN) WITTICK

A funeral service for Evelyn Jane Wittick, 97, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the United Methodist Church of Worland in Worland, Wyoming with Pastor Kayi officiating.  Interment will be in the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland.

Evelyn Wittick passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming surrounded by her family.

Evelyn was born on Thursday, March 3, 1927 in Blue Island, Illinois the daughter of James and Ethel (Fay) Warren.  She was the middle child of three.

She graduated from Geneseo, Illinois in 1945 and started working as a telephone switchboard operator until 1948.  At that time, she married the love of her life, Charles Nelvin Wittick on April 9, 1948.  They honeymooned to Wyoming and never left.  They had short stays in Worland and Thermopolis, Wyoming before making Lovell, Wyoming home for 69 years.  Lovell is where all six children were raised.  Evelyn enjoyed gardening, quilting, and genealogy.  She was also a member of the Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for numerous years.

She is survived by her children, Charlyn (Richard) Lewis of Wheatland, Cheryl (Jay) Saul of Sheridan, Wyoming, Charles (Peggy) Wittick of Cody, Wyoming, Diana Pickerel of Sanford, Florida, Brenda (Will) Helling of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and William (Peggy) Wittick Powell, Wyoming; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Goold of Clovis, California.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles Wittick on June 4, 1994; parents, James and Ethel Warren; brother, James Warren; and great grandson, Casey Niemczyk on February 10, 1998.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Eddleman, Josh Wittick, Elliott Wittick, Charles Wittick, Marshall Wittick, and Travis Helling.

    Kirk S. Kothmann, DVM

    Kirk S. Kothmann, DVM, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, in Bulverde, Texas at the age of 62. Dr. K was born on May 5, 1959 in San Angelo, Texas to Carleton and Barbara Rue Kothmann. In 1994, Dr. Kothmann and his wife moved to Bulverde, TX and founded Bulverde Animal Hospital. At the age of five years old, he knew he wanted to be a veterinarian. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1985 with a doctor’s degree in veterinarian medicine. In the same year, he met his wife, Theressa (Powell) Kothmann from Sulphur Springs, TX. In 1995, they opened Bulverde Animal Hospital. Their motto was to treat their client’s pets as family. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Theressa Kothmann; children; Whitney and Stephanie Kothmann; parents; Carleton and Barbara Rue Kothmann; siblings; Eric and his wife, Connie Kothmann and Kyle and his, wife Melissa Kothmann; his mother-in-law; Sharlyn (Powell) Vaughn; brother-in-law; John Powell, and his wife, LaWana; sister-in-law; Linda Mathes and her husband, Bryan. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by father-in-laws; Tommy Powell and Ray Vaughn; his sister-in-law; Susan Bennett, and nephew; Chris Bennett.
