St. Patrick’s Day Parade | March 16
Drawing crowds of approximately ,, the downtown parade includes marching bands, balloons, clowns, floats, and more. There’s plenty of programming beyond the parade, too. The night before, check out the “Meet the Irish” dinner at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, with cocktails, dinner, a presentation of the parade dignitaries, and, of course, dancing. And on Saturday morning, kick up your own heels at 9 a.m. for the 5-mile run or 3-kilometer “shuffle” through downtown. Parade starts at noon at 20 and Market streets.
St. Patrick’s Day in Dogtown | March 17
Dogtown goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day, celebrating the neighborhood’s Irish history. St. James the Greater has a special Irish Heritage mass on Saturday at 4 p.m. in honor of St. Patrick. The Ancient Order of Hibernians run the parade, which steps off at 11 a.m., and neighborhood association Dogtown United hosts an all-day Irish festival starting at 9 a.m.

Speaking of Dogtown, the Pat Connolly Tavern is hosting starting early. On Sunday, enjoy a pre-parade breakfast starting at a.m. The bar always has live music on weekends, so it’s a great spot to start the weekend. Food and drink will be sold at numerous locations along the parade route, serving soft drinks, hot dogs, burgers, and bratwurst, along with snacks, novelties, and beer. We are launching a family-friendly area to watch the giant helium character balloons close-up as they are being inflated. Come watch as Murphy the Leprechaun, the Irish Flag, and all of the other balloons rise up before your eyes. We will have a volunteer available to answer all of your questions. The 56 annual St. Patricks Day Parade will take place on Saturday, March 15, , at PM in downtown St. Louis. The parade always takes place rain or shine. Regularly noted as one of the top in the country, the parade is comprised of over units, including marching bands, floats, huge cartoon-character balloons, + marchers, and lots of clowns.
